if you really heard anything at all. As you brush your hand along the walls
trying to get a feel for the room, you can actually feel the carved markings
in the walls. A chill runs down your spine as you get the feeling that this
room leads to something very important.
A quill pen has been dropped here.

An icy draft curls around your ankles and sends a shiver up your spine as
you step into the foyer of the Cwn Annwn's fortress. Black marble walls
tower over your head as you peer around, trying to seperate the room from
shadow. A fireplace at the far end of the room flickers softly, giving off
an anemic glow. You take a step forward and nearly trip over a table made
of onyx, black as the rest of the room. In fact, the only real colour comes
from a red silk banner spread across one wall, boldly emblazoned with the
words "Cwn Annwn". A cold stone hallway extends to the north, and smaller
passages lead southeast and southwest.
A large axe is here.
A vest made of leather lies here on the ground.
( 2) A large key made out of human bone lies here.
A small black rock with strange markings has been dropped here.
A small rusted iron flail with dried blood on it.
A necklace made from the vertebrae of a snake is here.
A platemail that fits a giant is here.
A small stone is here.

This is the Cwn Annwn's mess hall. The place is filled with long wooden
tables covered with fine delicacies from all over the world, from Maldra's
specialty to Kraken pie. Oddly enough, there doesn't seem to be any visible
sign of a kitchen, and you can't figure out where all the food is coming
from. A strange troll known only as Neelix runs around and waits on the
hungry clan members.

These are the sleeping quarters of the Cwn Annwn. The room is fairly
large and plainly decorated, and definitely not the most luxurious of places
- nor is it meant to be. It was obviously built for practical rather than
aesthetic purposes. Some tall, sturdy bunk beds stand in rows along the
wall. They are neatly made and look fairly comfortable to sleep in. The
mess hall lies to the west.

You are standing in the gathering hall of the Cwn Annwn. While it's
still as imposing a place as the foyer to the south, it's certainly much
more colourful. Richly sculpted caryatid columns support a high vaulted
ceiling, and the floor is done in gold and glass tesserae. The walls, also
tiled, are decorated with elaborate tapestries, weapons and shields bearing
Annwn's coat of arms, and portraits of each member of the clan. Several
brass torcheres standing along the walls give light to the entire room. A
plain wooden trapdoor is set in the floor, in the far northeast corner.

WARNING: You are in a LAWFUL PLAYER KILLING room.      -      -      -

You have entered a small, dusty, dimly-lit chamber beneath the main hall
of the fortress. The putrid scent of burnt and rotting flesh hangs heavy in
the air, causing you to retch violently, and the floor is stained dark with
blood. Sinister-looking iron devices sit all around you, and even in the
half-light you can identify them as the wheel, the rack, and the Judas
cradle. A rusty cage hangs from the ceiling, which, upon closer
examination, contains the skeletal remains of a long-dead humanoid. In her
corner, the iron maiden stands tall with arms extended, ready to enfold you
in her deadly embrace. As you stumble and come face to face with a grinning
skull, you can't help but wonder why you wandered down here in the first
place.

This is where the slaves of Annwn are allowed to take a break and sleep.
The conditions are poor - the walls are unfinished, the few thin mattresses
are torn and dusty, and feathers from the ripped pillows are strewn all over
the crude concrete floor. A faucet in the north wall drips water
incessantly, causing puddles to form on the uneven floor. A wooden crate in
the northwest corner contains a few potatoes and several loaves of stale
bread. It seems whatever is no longer useful upstairs is sent down here.

You are standing on the second floor landing of the fortress, before a
huge cast-iron spiral staircase that leads back up to the foyer and even
deeper into the ground. The floor is tiled in a circular pattern of red and
gold which complements the vivid tempera frescoes. Doorways to the
northwest and northeast open to brightly-lit administrative offices, while a
flickering light emanates from the southwest doorway. Strangely, the
southeast door stands shut, looking out of place in this otherwise open
space. The unadorned wooden door seems to pulse with a faint golden aura,
leading you to believe that behind it lies something of great value and
importance.
A thin cloak rests here, jumbled in a small ball.
Some robes with strange runes printed on them are here.

You have entered a relatively small room below the mess hall. The floor
is covered by a thick, red carpet which effectively blocks out the sound of
your footsteps. A few cherry logs burn in the fireplace to the south, the
flickering flames filling the room with a soft ambience. Several worn but
comfortable sofas are placed before the fire. A dart board hangs on the
west wall beside a small bar and several stools. A finely-carved wooden
billiards table dominates the west side of the room, while tables on the
east are set up for poker and mahjong.

You are in a small and messy office. It is much less formal than the
stately office to the west. The solid hardwood floor is covered by an
intricate hand-woven rug imported from Beltane. Several plain wooden desks
are placed against the far wall, leaving ample room for the huge leather
sofas which surround an onyx coffee table. Four dim paper lanterns hanging
from the ceiling provide the only source of light and cast an almost festive
glow upon the entire room. Various enticing food items such as danishes,
caviar, and fried haddock have been left on the table by the careless clan
elders. Shall you help yourself?

This large, brightly-lit room serves as the clan leaders' office. The
floor, tiled in shimmering white marble, reflects light from the lamps set
along the walls. Two elongated ivory statuettes stand on pedestals at
either end of an ebony desk which occupies the centre of the room. The desk
is cluttered with a great conglomeration of pens, picture frames, maps,
books, and important documents. Several tall filing cabinets, also made of
ebony, are placed against the walls. A comfortable black leather armchair
sits behind the desk, opposite two smaller wooden chairs set out for
visitors.

You have entered the fabled vault of the Cwn Annwn. The room is filled
from wall to wall with various objects of great value which speak for the
wealth of the clan. Several large chests sit on the floor in a corner,
brimming with gold pieces and precious stones. A fine collection of armour
and weapons, all kept in immaculate condition and many emblazoned with the
mark of Annwn, hangs neatly on hooks along the south wall. Priceless
antiques, jewelry, talismans, figurines, and other random curiosities are
arranged on the wooden shelves which line the east and west walls. You
notice in particular ten heavy, leather-bound tomes written in ancient
script, no doubt containing a fortune in lost secrets and forgotten lore.
