Even before your eyes can adjust to the darkness, the smell in this room
almost makes you gag. You realize that there is dried blood splattered all
along the walls, and a few pools on the floor have yet to coagulate
completely. There are small bits of flesh and bone lying around, and you
decide that they must be the remains of residents of this home. A hole has
been broken in the wall to the north, and an obscure hatch above leads back
upstairs.

As you step into this room, you are overcome by an intense fit of
coughing. The air is thick with a toxic black smoke of some kind, making it
impossible to see anything. When you finally recover you are totally
disoriented, and have no idea where you came from. You can make out the
vague outlines of several doorways, but have no way of telling where any of
them lead.
You feel dizzy, and everything seems to spin around you.

a warning or a guardian.

surprise you if she kept children here ro be eaten for dinner.

seems to be coming from that direction you fear that the lair of Baba Yaga
is nearby.

This large cave is a lot warmer than the tunnel outside, probably due to
the huge cauldron you can see to the north. There is a lot of smoke in the
room, and after just a few moments you begin to cough slightly. While

the chance that Baba Yaga will catch you in here! There is a massive stone
archway leading out to the west.

mixture with large chucks of meat floating in it. It is the source of all
the smoke in the area, and is also producing a terrible stench.

Of the same skin tone and frantic demeanor as the cannibals and other apparent natives wandering Dungeon Deceit, this witch doctor seems to be a relic of the Beltane's past, not just trapped in Yourban's adopted dungeon, but in a full bodysuit of granite. His eyes move, and its lips tremble, but otherwise he appears to be fully immobile. What he did to deserve such treatment is unclear, but it was probably bad enough that doing anything possibly beneficial to him could be a bad idea. He looks a bit mobile, perhaps 3% of the way back to human, from a fully petrified state. |
