Overturned stone benches are scattered everywhere within the temple.
Fragments of statues lay all over the area. The destruction of this temple
seems complete and you wonder what could have lead to such an act of
descecration. Footprints in the thick dust lead toward the altar.

Fragments of stonework and mortar lay scattered around the massive stone
altar. Though it is now covered with dust and littered with crumbling bits
of masonry, it is an awe-inspiring symbol of devotion that transcends the
desecration that it has endured. You wonder why the local citizens seem to
have forsaken it completely. The largest pile of debris seems to have been
intentionally piled against the west wall.

An odd feeling of deja vu sweeps over you, as if you recognize this place
from somewhere. Before you stands a huge marble archway. Along the sides
and top of the archway are inscribed many strange symbols and various runes
that you recognize as runes of warding and warning. Cold chill, musty air
flows from beyond the arch sending chills down your spine and goosebumps
across your skin. Dozens of dripping white candles, placed in many of the
hundreds of niches along the walls in memory of lost loved ones, cast a
soft, but eerie light.

As you continue on, the feeling of familiarity begins to increase. You

extrememly heavy and sturdy doors. Cold, chill, and musty air oozes from
under the doors making your skin crawl.

beneath the city of Rune. However, there are many slight but noticable
differences between the two places. You wonder what explanation there could
be, and decided to press onward in search of answers.

the center of the room, with black marble steps leading to it. An open
coffin rests on the top of the dais, from which the chilling wind is
emanating. Strange runes are chalked all over the floors and ceiling, and
this appears to be the central casting point for this area. Could the great
sorceress Lady Bane be planning to raise an evil army of some sort? Perhaps
she should be stopped before her evil plans succeed.

awful and frightening sight - encircle a raised marble dais in the center of
the floor. The only exit is west.

At this point the bluish-gray stone of the hall comes to an end,
revealing the dark black stone beneath it. It is obvious that someone has
dug these passages from scratch, plating them with special material to make
them look more like the Temple Crypt in Rune. The work must not be finished
yet, since there are a variety of tools lying on the ground here.

You are standing in the midst of what was once a great work of
architecture. However, the city's fall from the world above was so
devastating that very few buildings remained intact. The ravages of time
have further deteriorated the structure, until there is nothing left but
stones and the occasional broken pillar. There is an especially large pile
of rubble in this area, it seems to have been used as a dumping ground by
the scavengers.

As you climb over the rubble that covers the floor in this cave, the dust
stirred up by your passage makes you cough. You can't quite tell if all the
dust has collected over time or if it was created when the stones lying here
were broken. However, the hole in the wall to the south looks as though it
was made rather recently.

The glare in this room is incredible, since your light source is
magnified by dozens of mirrored panels scattered throughout the area. Your
reflection seems to extend on into infinity, and the sight makes your head
spin with confusion. While the mirrors are placed at odd angles, making it
difficult to find where the actual path leads, you can appaently continue to
the east or the west. There is a break in the paneling to the north, where
you can see a hole in the wall.

As you pick yourself up off the ground, you notice with a sense of relief
that this room doesn't seem to have any mirrors at all. Once you look
around a little more, you realize that you are inside of a giant, ruined
statue. While the room may once have been used as a ceremonial place of
worship, it has recently been converted to a stylish living room. You
eventually notice a large mirror on the ceiling, and wonder what possible
purpose it might serve. There is the outline of a door chalked on the east
wall, but it seems to be completely solid.

The glare in this room is incredible, since your light source is
magnified by dozens of mirrored panels scattered throughout the area. Your
reflection seems to extend on into infinity, and the sight makes your head
spin with confusion. While the mirrors are placed at odd angles, making it
difficult to find where the actual path leads, you can appaently head back
to the east. In addition, you notice that one of the panels to the south
displays a small room rather than your reflection.
*A ninja is here, ready to attack intruders.
