This is the throne room where Lord Maldra holds audience. It is a bit
larger than the other rooms in this section of the keep and is decorated
almost completely in marble. The throne he sits upon is a marvelous work of
art which has been created from various different shades of marble. A
smaller throne room for the Lady of the Keep is to the west.
The bloody, severed head of Rugor is lying here.
( 2) A burnished brass androsphinx sits obediently at Lord Maldra's feet.

There is a milling crowd of people here waiting their turn to see the
Lord of the Keep. You can see his throne room to the immediate north. As
patrons who wish to visit the market area that to the northeast shove past,
you silently curse the person who designed this area of the keep as being a
complete idiot. The noise level is almost unbearable, your head is
beginning to throb.
One of the local dancers is here showing some wild dance moves.
You pant and gasp, trying to catch your breath.

There are quite a few people here waiting their turn for an audience with
the Lord of the Keep. Unfortunately the open market is located
distressingly near to the throne rooms, causing those who wish to purchase
things to add to the crowd. It is rather noisy with some people talking and
others shouting greetings to people across the room.
You pant and gasp, trying to catch your breath.

Three old ladies bicker and argue so loudly over to the west that you
notice them across the hall. Not far to the south is the kitchen, past that
the double doors that lead away from the inner castle. Just a short way to
the north is the audience room and the entrance to the open market.

To the west you see a good size group of people looking at the tapestries
that depict the history of Alyria. You can see just a little bit of detail,
it is just enough to make you curious. Looking to the north you see vendors
moving toward a market area and various persons waiting for an audience with
the Lord of the Keep.

The hallway continues to the north, leading eventually to the audience
room, where several merchants and sailors apply to get grants and loans. To
the south lies the kitchen entrance, and far off down the hall lies a set of
double doors, leading away from the inner sections of the castle.
A dirty, smelly, lice infested rat is searching for food here.

The aroma coming from the eastern door is making your mouth water. You
think of a way you can maybe get the king to invite you to dinner. As you
are lost deep in thought you practically get bowled over by a few serving
girls that rush from the kitchen with trays of hors d'oeuvres and other
finger foods.
*A red robed prophet is here attempting to look all knowing.
A fey noble has come to purchase land from the Baron.

Serving carts and a few other large kitchen accessories sit along the
side of the wall. The aroma of freshly prepared duck and chicken wafts
through the air, practically beckoning you to follow its scent. The
banterings of a few of the castle chefs and servants can be heard not too
far off to the north.

Red carpet lines the floor of the room and leads to the throne room far
to the north. This section of the keep is heavily patrolled by the guards
who are hall, keeping a watchful eye on visitors. There are polished marble
benches with thick cushions on them placed along walls where people
desiring an audience with the Lord of the Keep may wait.
A dirty, smelly, lice infested rat is searching for food here.

To your north are a set of double doors. There are a pair of guards
stationed beside them keeping a sharp eye on those that enter the northern
portion of the hall. You can see another set of doors which are also
guarded to your west. Since the throne rooms are to the north you can
understand the need for guards stationed to watch over those that go near
them.

There are several shelves in this room containing various books,
newspapers and other printed materials. Chairs and cushions ranged about
the walls provide comfortable places for children and adults to read what
they have selected. As you glance over the shelves you see titles ranging
from history and religion to fairy tales.

Several actors practice lines and read script out loud, making it hard to
hear anything else. There are also a few writers in the back creating new
masterpieces. A couple of musicians are tuning their instruments off in one
corner, adding to the general hubbub.

There are jesters, jugglers and other entertainers in this room
practicing their acts on the people that have stopped to watch. After all,
practice makes perfect, and they wouldn't want to have a bad show for the
Lord of the Keep! Some of them are asking opinions of the people who have
been watching the acts so that they might make improvements.

A long hallway extends here to the north that leads to a set of double
doors. The hallway is lit with several golden oil lamps. A few messengers
arrive from the double doors to the north carrying out missions given to
them by the the Lord of the keep. There is also a long passage running to
the east and west, guards and other persons are bustling about this hallway.

You are immediately north of the entrance to the Keep. This is a fairly
large room with walls of an odd colored stone, you can't recall having seen
anything like this before. There are globes of light set into recesses near
the top of the wall.

As you approach Maldra Keep the entrance guards move out of the way from
the gates and allow you passage. The creaky boards that support your weight
over the moat do not povide much comfort to you as you walk across. Your
attempt at greeting the castle guards is met by a cold shoulder. The guards
apparently are here to do their job and nothing more.

As you approach Maldra Keep, you see the entrance guards waiting for you
on the other side. As you get closer to them, you wonder if they will allow
your passage. You start to cross wondering if the creaky wooden boards will
support your weight.

The white marble walls are elaborately decorated with portraits of the
members of the clan. In the center of the room is an obsidian pedestal with
the inscribed words, "May the fire in our hearts burn forever." On top of
the pedestal, a strange and magical fire burns within a crystal sphere. On
the obsidian floor around the pedestal, is a large bronze circle. The
bronze circle is engraved with the names of each member of the clan.
( 3) A curved and sharpened piece of bone appears to have been discarded.
An immaculate violet scroll has been dropped here.
