Similar to a gargoyle, a grotesque is different in that it is non-functional, in the usual sense. While it still serves a purpose, it is somewhat more esoteric than that of a gargoyle. Gargoyles possess waterspouts through which they spit, and sometimes urinate rainwater, while grotesques are simply horrible-looking things that beat about on huge wings and guard their origins. It is a gargoyle approximately 6’11" tall. An ironwork grotesque has several minor scratches. <worn as shield> a gargoyle’s shield (new) |
