Upon entering the Domanin of Arbaces, the members of the party found
themselves traveling down a long corridor. They passed through a second set
of crystal doors unhindered, and continued down, deeper into the ground.
Eventually the band traveled through an area of water and ice, meeting
the Queen of the Tides. She found them worthy and allowed them to pass
after they helped rid her realm of some dangerous creatures, but she warned
that they would be forced to work as individuals in order to complete their
quest. Bearing this information in mind, they again moved forward.
The next area the party encountered was quite different, for it was full
of ooze and salt instead of water and ice. Wading through the thick slime
coating the ground and walls, they came across an especially swampy area.
Because it moved so slowly and quietly through the muck, the warriors did
not notice the giant slug coming towards them until it was almost too late.
Dripping mucus, the enormous gastropod moved to engulf the people it
perceived as intruders. They swung at the beast with their weapons, but to
no avail. The situation was beginning to look grim, until the bard deftly
leapt upon the back of the creature.
Unsheathing his twisted iron dagger, he plunged the weapon deep into the
monster's head as he jumped free. Shivering and convulsing, the slug fell
to the ground as the knife pierced its brain and delived a magical charge of
electricity. After Izydor retrieved his dagger, the party continued on
its way.
