NPC: A black adder
Long Desc: Light glints off black irridescent scales hidden in the shadows.

Hiding in the shadows here is an adder.  Its scales are all black with a
slight iridescence when the light catches them.  Although oddly captivating,
they are also very poisonous, like many of the other creatures in these
caves.  Venom is the way many of the smaller creatures in these caves have
adapted to the large predators of the area.
It is a snake approximately 1'6" tall.
