NPC: Salaam the gnome
Long Desc: Salaam the gnome is here, stroking his long beard.

Salaam is an old gnome with a very long white beard flowing past his
waist.  He is dressed in sturdy leathers of a mottled brown.  Leaning
against his gnarled walking stick, he waits here for new adventurers so that
he might be among the first to welcome them to the world of Alyria.  This
old fellow might have some wisdom to impart if you take the time to listen
to him.
He is a gnome approximately 4'1" tall.
