Long Desc: A small, hairy hobbit stands here, smiling at you over his glasses.
On second thought, 'friendly' likely isn't the first term that springs to
mind when looking at this hobbit. His legs are shackled together, which is
in turn shackled to a post in the at the base of the ladder leading up one
of the very tall bookcases here. 'Managing' might be more appropriate.
However, despite his apparent slavery, he seems to be able to put on a
cheerful face for you. This leads to the next dilemma: despite his notable
resemblace to a very many grandfathers, would it be better to attempt the
impossible task of freeing him from here alive, or to put him out of his
misery on the spot?
