NPC: A lesser sooty owl
Long Desc: A compact white-faced and black-masked owl perches here.

This small owl's most distinct feature is its stark white face and dark
'mask' around its eyes.  It has a dark grey plumage, speckled with white,
and perches in a hunched over posture more characteristic of the diurnal
raptors than the owls.  Although they mostly feed on rodents and the
occasional possum, they are territorial and jealously guard their hunting
ground and nesting area.
It is a bird approximately 1'6" tall.
