This frightening creature snaps it jaws angrily as you enter the room.
You've heard legends about red salamanders before, although blue ones are
seldom spoken of.  They are said to be elemental guardians of fire, and this
one is indeed flickering with flame.  The salamander is certainly very hot,
and you should be careful not to get too close.
It is a salamander approximately 5'7" tall.
