This is the shrine's altar, a simply decorated stone slab held up by
short fat marble stilts.  Dira's people are very simple and generally spend
most of their time in community prayer by meditating silently.  Therefore,
the need to have a glamourus altar and a fancy shrine is just not there. 
You look around for an exit which the priests use to leave the back of the
chapel, and find nothing but the smoothness of the room's circular walls.
