Smoke hangs thick in the air here, perceivable only by its raw,
unfiltered odor.  The lights are as low as the air smells of alcohol, strong
barley and hops mixed with the lingering stench of the seedy underbelly of
this upstanding town.  At the center of it all is a card dealer, sitting
complacently in the only light the room affords.  He obviously runs the
show.
