This is Lathyrus Trail, a plain woodland path that serves the resident
followers of Maradas as a road to get to and from their temple and the rest
of Xaventry.  Most of the houses you pass by are made of crude stone and are
rather short for a human to live within.  After thinking about this for a
while, you realize that gnomes and dwarves are the prime worshippers of
Maradas, and they are quite stout indeed.  
A traveling merchant journeys the roads.
A foot soldier is hanging around here, with nothing important to do.
A gnomish follower of Maradas busily runs past you.
A child runs around your feet, playing a game of tag.
A local townsman busily goes about his business.
