You are standing at the bottom of a deep pit.  The ground is sloped
slightly downwards, and you find it necessary to pay close attention while
walking in order to avoid stumbling.  The sheer walls of the pit rise up on
all sides, and the only ways out are a small trail winding up to the south
and a hole in the floor leading into darkness.
