When you reach the bottom of this towering staircase, you can feel the
evil presence become even stronger.  However, it also seems more diffuse, as
if it is blanketing the entire area.  You are now quite certain that the
Dark Power has control of Hellbent Mountain, and this level must be one of
the main bases of operation for his minions.  In addition to the evil, you
can sense that the magical field here is stronger than anywhere else, and
wonder what makes this part of the mountain so special.
