It seems that this area of the volcano is still somewhat active after
all.  There is a large crack in the ground here, and an incredible amount of
steam and hot water billows up out of it.  While the heat and humidity are a
bit uncomfortable, it doesn't seem to pose any immediate threat.  In fact,
you might just be able to use the geyser to shoot yourself up through the
large hole in the ceiling, but you aren't sure if you'll be able to get back
down the same way.
