This small path looks like it has been created by the passage of many
travelers over time.  Although the ground is still rough and uneven, it is
relatively free of debris, and following the trail will certainly be much
safer than attempting to scale the side of the mountain.  The path leads up
the mountain to the west and back down to the south.
