As you step into the niche, the shadows shrouding it seem to melt away. 
The entire south wall has been transformed into a large statue of Lord
Glomus, although the likeness is much more flattering than reality.  The odd
illumination here makes the statue seem to loom towards you, and just
standing here is making you quite nervous.
