The topiary garden seems to be centered on this small clearing in the
exact center of the field.  Another hedge animal should go here, however,
nothing but plain tall grass grows around you.  You begin to wonder what is
so special about this center, perhaps it was made just to fool the
adventurer who walks the labryinth.  
A long dark naga slithers its way around the maze.
A thorny, red-veined vine twines its way around your feet.
A dark naga begins attacking you!
A dark naga is in perfect health.
