You have stumbled behind an illusionary wall in the back of the temple! 
As soon as you came through that wall you get this eerie feeling that
something is looming above you.  You glance up to see what could be there
but only see absolute darkness.  There is a small staircase right in front
of you leading down into the ground.  There is also a SIGN here, you should
probably read it!  
     A wooden sign hangs on the back wall.
