To your north stands a small body of water.  The water flows in from the
waterfall to your northwest and fills the small dark pool.  There must be
some sort of drainage system, otherwise the area would flood, what it is
isn't evident.  The inky pool reflects eerily from your light, and
periodically something in the pool causes ripples to spread out across the
surface.  An uneasy feeling crawls slowly up your spine.  
A wandering soldier walks about on some errand or another.
