Numerous anvils litter the floor here.  All of them different sizes and
shapes.  On the far wall are hundreds of finished weapons ready to go up to
the barracks weapons room.  A hearth on the east wall of the room lights up
the place with its sullen red glow as a few lowly blacksmith apprentices
pump the bellows tirelessly.  To the south, every few minutes a soot covered
slave would bring in a cart full of still warm iron that was just smelted
and made ready for the master blacksmith to forge into weapons.  Another
slave fills a large jar with carbon particles so the smith can fold the
metal and make carbon steel.  One of the more expensive and stronger metals
known in Rune today.
