You are walking along a hard trail in a lightly wooded area, except for a
peculiar reddish glow somewhere to your west it is quite dark.  When you
stop and listen you hear none of the normal animal sounds that you expect. 
In fact the only thing you can hear is what sounds like wood popping on a
fire.
