Several monks have devoted their lives to sitting here and copying text
from one book to another.  You believe they might be the cause of the
silencing spell seeing as how they have taken a vow of silence themselves. 
That however does not mean that they have not taken combat training.  And
working under one roof with the same people, doing the same thing over and
over could give someone a bad attitude.  
A guest is relaxing in the quarters provided them by the Master of the keep.
