Long slabs of dark green granite are stacked upon one another, leading up
into the castle hallway.  The steps are highly polished, but not as slippery
as they appear.  It is amazing that a war-oriented city takes the time for
the extravagance of these stairs.  To the north, you see guards at the
doors, watching your ascent closely.  In the southern direction, you can
hear the impatient steps of nobles and merchants waiting for audience.
