  You are standing on a landing at the bottom of the mansion's north tower,
the pinnacle of the house.  A spiral staircase winds upwards into darkness,
and a short hallway leads back to the south.  While the stairs look fairly
sturdy, you can't tell what lies above you, and are extremely nervous about
finding out.
