Western Branch of the Atrium - N - (-------------------------------------------------) - <---(M)---> E - - - The colored tiles below you are fairly elaborate designs, tilework at its most brilliant. Beautifully adjusted to the shape of the room, the design of the spiraling tendrils is at once rich and subtle, enveloping the walls to your north and south. In contrast to the stern reliefs found on the walls that encase the palace, the floor design here enhances the atrium without obscuring it. Some distance east you spot the Central Atrium. A slave woman trudges along, carrying her heavy basket of goods.
