Racks of softbound newsletters and recently transcribed folios hang from
long horizontal oak dowels and an eclectic collection of tables have been
haphazardly arranged about them.  Strewn about the faded vanier of the
tabletops are various articles on architecture, archeology and geography. 
Dry clumps of white wax stretch to the cobblestones at the base of the few
candlesticks that are allowed to burn continuously.  Far beyond the
flickering flames, perilously high masonry arches support the ageless
ceiling.  In an attempt to protect the fragile parchment by absorbing
ambient moisture meticulously placed spice bags give off a horribly stale
aroma.
