A thick towel, neatly folded, and a large cake of yellow soap sit on a stool behind each tub, and big black iron cauldrons of water stand heating over fires along one of the walls. On the opposite wall, logs blazing in a deep fireplace add to the general warmth of the room. A shy bather patiently waits for you to leave so she can enter the tub.
