This wide hallway seems to be better lit than others you have already
visited.  The walls are much cleaner than you expected and you can smell the
faint aroma of what seems to be books.  Perhaps there is an archive nearby. 
The floor is lightly dusted with dirt and it mutes your footsteps slightly
as you move about.  A large chamber is to the south here.
