East Avenue - N - (-------------------------------------------------) W <---(M)---> - - S - The wide 4-step stylobate to your west leads to the Basilica of Diocletian. The basilica, constructed early after the creation of the palace, houses the law court and is used for other official purposes. In plain it is long and narrow, with two stories of internal columns dividing the space inside into a central nave and flanking aisles. The 4-step stylobate extends to your southwest, and to your north and south you can see east avenue.
