You are in an ashy tunnel.  This tunnel seems to have more ash on the
floor than most and it also seems narrower.  On the walls are strange runes,
typical of many tunnels in Vesuvius.  You see absolute darkness as you
continue down the path.  For some reason torches were forgotten for this
tunnel.  Perhaps this way isn't an encouraged path of travel.
