Entering the Subterranean Palace Catacombs - N - (-------------------------------------------------) - <---(M)---> - WARNING: You are in a CHAOTIC PLAYER KILLING room. - - - The most significant religious monuments of the palace are the least conspicuous, for they are entirely underground. These catacombs are vast subterranean networks of galleries and chambers, designed as cemeteries for the burial of the dead. Consider to be abandoned, evidence of recent disturbances appears to indicate that they are still in constant use. In times of persecution, the catacombs also served as places of concealment for fugitives, which explains the maze-like construction. According to local legend, the catacombs are now occupied by the zealous followers of the Cult of the Lady. The narrow passageway continues north, and a small ladder extends up to the church floor.
