Stopping mere inches from falling to your death, you gain your balance
and look around you.  The trees have given way to a deep, dark chasm.  This
area was the beginning of an excavation that ended long ago, but the workers
obviously didn't bother filling it back in.  The wind whips through the
abyss before you, creating an eerie howl that sends a chill down your spine.
The only option left is to go back to the west.
