After the mess of trees to the northwest, this clearing is a welcome
change.  The ground is soft and grassy, and the trees are far enough apart
that the sky is almost fully visible above.  It looks as though the only way
out is back through the trees to the northwest, although it's hard to
understand why anyone would want to leave this place.  
An elderly caretaker stands here looking for something to do.
