The area around you looks like it used to be part of the forest, though
it is barely recognizable now.  Twisted and charred remains of tree trunks
litter the landscape, and the ground is slick with a fine, black ash.  You
wonder what could cause such devastation.  Whatever it is, you should be
cautious.
