The path ends here, as if fearing to go nearer to the aura of evil that
surrounds the forest whose mighty trees tower before you.  Within the trees
you think you see strange shapes - almost human shapes - or is that only a
trick of the light?  Wind wails through the branches like the cries of lost
souls.  You can return to safety to the north or enter the forest south.
