You are in a light forest.  This term does not refer to the visibility
which is limited due to the unnatural darkness caused by the shroud of evil
that hangs over the woods, but instead to the fact that the trees are rather
widely spaced.  Walking is easy in this area, and this would be a pleasant
stroll except for the constant sense of danger, like something was coming up
behind you.  You see the grey rock of a cliffside blocking your movement to
the west.  
A nervous-looking brown rabbit nibbles at the bushes.
A huge, greenish, hairy humanoid creature shambles through the forest.
A graceful flying squirrel sails through the branches.
