The pale yellow sands of the Sannan desert run right to the edge of some
kind of boarded foundation.  The dry, wooden planks are akin to those found
along the beaches of Beltane, usually from wrecked ships.  Warm, heavy air
leaks through them, smelling faintly of the petrol reserve it conceals.  The
light coastal breeze drops sand against the crackling wood, filling the air
of this desert port with the audible mirage of rainfall.  The walk continues
through the village, and there is a small hunter's lodge to the west.
