It appears that some sort of worm like creature has tunneled several
large tunnels from the ceiling and walls.  The holes are too narrow for you
to fight in, incase there is something that does not want you to enter them.
As you turn around, a large polar worm type of creature raises its head,
towering a good six feet above you.  Not only has it surprised you, but it
now blocks the passage up the stairs, to the northwest.  

A giant worm as towers above you, ready to swallow you whole.
