The Ideal Spot to Stop and Smell the Roses - N - (-------------------------------------------------) W <---(M)---> E - S - The limestone walkway snaking in from the south broadens here to form a large circular terrace, on which two benches sit facing each other equidistant from a moderately-sized stone fountain separating them. A monster of a willow tree quietly imposes its shade on any bench-dwellers from the north point of the terrace. All things considered, this is an exemplary place to stop and smell the roses -- figuratively speaking, of course: the brightly-colored flowers that line most of the limestone (they are conveniently absent from the west and east points, and from either side of the willow tree) are not roses, but tulips. A fountain of white alabaster marks the center of the terrace. A bench on the western side of the fountain faces east. A bench on the eastern side of the fountain faces west.
