Nestled between the Tower of air and the elemental bonfire, this hallway
seems like a very strange location for a soundproofed anything, much less an
open, echo-prone hallway.  Yet, once ears get acclimatized to the strange
nature of this place, its function becomes clear.  All sounds in this
hallway are neutralized by the white noise of the crackling fires to the
north, and then reduced by the dampening sonic properties inherent to the
structure of the Tower of Air.  Although the mechanism of this place is
understood, its exact raison d'etre is a curious mystery, to say the least. 
     A polished gemstone catches your eye.
     A small magical device sits upon a stand, amplifying all noises that occur nearby.
