You are walking up Pratt Street, a standard street with nothing
exceptionally special about it.  The only people who seem to be on this
street other than you are a few beggars trying to finish the day.  This
street is very bare without any trees or decorations to attract residents. 
In fact, the only practical purpose of this street is to lead people east
and west to and from their homes.  Boring steel signs hang on each home
unceremoniously identifying the house's street address.  If you bothered to
look, you'd see #3 on the northern house and #4 on the southern one.  
     There is a weathered wooden hitching post here.
Here sits a lonely beggar without a chance in the world.
