Declared an official nature preserve for the benefit of the townsfolk of
Rune, Astarach preserve is technically the property of the Lord of Rune by
fideicommissum.  Lord Agrippa's decree, issued many years ago, continues
that of his forebears in keeping it a dedicated open space.  Woodland
creatures still live in the area, sheltered by the poaching laws of yore. 
Rune is a relatively well-off town, with vassals and a healthy mercantile
economy- there is no need to kill wild animals for food, and there are
always more pressing matters at hand than recreational hunting.
