A Plain House - - - (-------------------------------------------------) - <---(M)---> # - - - This is a plain, simply furnished single-room house built of the same dull, grey stone as the low walls either side of the boardwalk. The crooked wooden furnishings include a table, a handful of chairs and a bed, with an iron stove against the back wall. The lack of a bath or a toilet betrays the use of the sea beneath the village for bathing and personal waste relief. Very few books or toys can be seen around the house, perhaps because the primary source of leisure and relaxation for the villagers is the ocean atop which they live, making it hard to imagine what they would do with their lives were it to be taken from them. An exhausted-looking middle-aged woman mops the floor, humming to herself as she works. A strong-armed fisherman clearly itching to get outside and dip his hook into the water is here. An exhausted-looking middle-aged woman mops the floor, humming to herself as she works.
