You are walking along an ancient wooden pier, which sticks far out into
the choppy waves of the sea.  The boards creak most alarmingly beneath your
feet as you walk along the pier.  Gaps between the weathered boards makes
footing tricky and tend to be damp from the salty sea spray.  Posts sunk
deep in the bay provide tie ups for ships of all sizes.
