darkness.  Several niches along the wall hold dusty statues of forgotten
saints.  A black carpet runs upstairs, torn and tattered with age.  The
hallway leads back to the west.  Judging from the strange creatures you've
seen roaming the house, it could be quite dangerous on the upper floors.  
    You sense a hidden life form in the area.
