As you traverse the cavern floor, you find that the gloom is catching as
a depressing pall fills your soul.  To your west and north, the river
completely fills your view.  To your east, a dark hole that reminds you of
the maw of some large beast marks the entrance to the caverns.  The thought
of proceeding onward gives you a chill, yet you continue your journey.
