The unnatural gloom here is impenetrable.  From all directions the sound
of a raging river echoes.  You crawl on your hands and knees to avoid
tripping and falling, which could be a very dangerous event, considering the
many sharp stones which lay strewn about the area.  You can hear scurrying
noises all around you, and you begin to crawl along faster, the small stones
penetrating your skin.  
A small black salamander crawls around the cavern in a search for food.
